The Challenge

Michael Strong, a three-time TEDx speaker and co-author of "Be the Solution," co-written with Wholefoods CEO John Mackey, approached us looking for a brand refresh because his current brand felt low-end and lacked a premium image. His high school's brand was also inconsistent across marketing channels, and his website and messaging did not resonate with his target audience.

The Solution

We discovered five desired brand attributes for the brand during our discovery sessions with Michael: intellectual, innovative, disruptive, inspirational, and relatable. We also uncovered Michael's primary goals, such as gaining new student enrollments. We ended up developing a consistent brand identity, including a logo, typography, color palette, website, and social media assets. Finally, it is now a school that distinguishes itself from competitors such as Elon Musk's Ad Astra school, among others.

how we did it

01

Discovery & Strategy

We kicked off the project by having a discovery meeting. We discussed Michael's business, his desired look and feel, and his objectives. In addition, the team at Maagnet performed extensive research on TSE's competitors and target audience. We documented our findings and presented a visual strategy and creative direction for Michael's approval.

Brand Design, UX & Copy

We started designing the first sketches of the visual identity and choosing typography and color palettes that best conveyed the brand's personality. At the same time, the team at Maagnet worked on the website's UX and copywriting in parallel.

Brand Refinement & UI

The visual identity drafts were narrowed down to the absolute strongest and presented with mock-life examples. We then gathered  feedback and performed various refinements of the brand identity until it was aligned with the visual strategy. At this point we also started the UI design of the website.
04

Web Development & Testing

Once the UI and visual identity were approved, we began developing the website on WordPress, made it responsive, and optimized it to be as light as possible.
05

Launch

After considerable testing for bugs, we launched the website and delivered the final files in a cloud folder with detailed brand guidelines and various brand collateral.
